Open Country –  Helping People with Disabilities to Access and Enjoy the Countryside

We are a Yorkshire charity with over 30 years of experience of working alongside disabled people, helping them to access and enjoy the countryside. We accomplish this through a variety of outdoor activities and the provision of information, training and advice for all.

We spend our days in the great outdoors, having fun whilst looking after our health and wellbeing. We have a dynamic team of staff, volunteers and trustees ready to welcome and support you.

Taster Sessions from August 2023 onwards:

Tandem Cycling Taster (6-9pm) Tuesday 15 August 2023

 Weekend outing to Cusworth Hall & Gardens (10-4pm) Saturday 19 August 2023

Walking Group Taster (10-4pm) Wednesday 6 September 2023

Adventure Watersports Day at Manvers Lake (10-4pm) Sunday 17 September 2023

Ponderosa Farm Outing (10-4pm) Saturday 30 September 2023

How do I enrol?

You are not referred to the Recovery College, you can simply enrol yourself, or on behalf of someone for any of our courses that may be of interest to you. Our courses are open to all adults and we welcome carers, supporters and professionals too.
