Mikki’s Christmas Poem

‘Twas the night before Christmas

All through the house

Not a creature was stirring

Not even a ghost

The Coaches were snuggled

In their office with care

With hope that some learners

Soon would be there

The peer supporters snoozed

Alone at their desks

All practical jokes

Had been put to bed

When out on the lawn

There arose such a clatter

That admin woke up

To see what was a matter

Away to the window

They flew like a flash

Tore open the shutters

And threw up the sash

Then there to their wondering eyes did appear

Craig

Feeding

Eight rather large rein-deer

And a sleigh with a driver

All dressed in red

Elves moving parcels

By the hundred

More rapid that eagles his courses they came

While whistling and shouting

‘That Mikki’s to blame’

Now Dasher, Now Dancer, Now Prancer Now Vixen

On Comet, On Cupid, On Donder and Bltzen

To the top of the College

To the top of the hall

Now Dash away, dash away, Dash away all

As leaves that before a wild hurricane fly

They rose from the lawn

Way up to the sky

So up to the house top

The coursers they flew

With a sleigh full of Lego

And St. Nicholas too

Then with a twinkling

Lisa heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing

Of each little hoof

Then with a yawn,

While removing her night cap

Lisa shouted

‘Have you got a risk assessment for that?’

As the physical health team were turning around

Down the Chimney

St. Nicholas came

With a bound

He was dressed all in fur

From his head to his foot

His clothes all tarnished

With dead pigeons and soot

Well a bundle of gifts he had slung on his back

He looked like a pedlar just opening his pack

His eyes how they twinkled

His dimples how merry

His cheeks just like roses

His nose like a cherry

His droll little mouth

Drawn up like a bow

As he let out a very loud

Ho! Ho! Ho!

He had a broad face

A little round belly

That shook when he laughed

Like a bowl full of jelly

The Gym team they took him

They gave him a plan

To cut out the biscuits and marzipan

He spoke not a word

But went straight to his work

Filled all the stockings

Then turned with a jerk

And laying a finger aside of his nose

He sneezed and up the Chimney he rose

He sprang to his sleigh and then gave a whistle

Away they all flew

Like down on a thistle

But we all heard him exclaim

As he flew out of sight

Happy Christmas Recovery College

To all a good night
