Mental health services

If you feel you need some support with your mental health, you should speak to your GP.  Your GP may refer you to an NHS mental health service called the Single Point of Access team. You may be offered an assessment, and short-term support or a referral to other mental health services.

Out-of-hours support

If you need support for your mental health outside of normal working hours you can:

Shout: the UK’s free, confidential and 24/7 mental health text service for crisis support | Shout 85258

There’s also a Mental Health liaison team based at Barnsley Hospital. You need to attend A&E at the hospital to access this service.

If you need help for a mental health crisis or emergency, call 999 or go to A&E.
