Reasons To Stay

The creator of this website was recently on Good Morning Britain.

His name is Ben West and when he was 17 his younger brother, who was 15, took his own life.  This obviously this had a massive impact on Ben and his family and as time went on, Ben wanted to use his experience of loss by suicide to try and help others.

He created “Reasons to Stay” website, where people who have stood at the edge of life but fought back against it can write “Dear Whoever….” letters for people to read if/when they are struggling with suicidal thoughts.  The letters are all written by real people and are messages of encouragement, support, hope. Giving the reader a much needed reminder that they do matter, their life is valid and the world is a better place for having them it.

There is a video of Ben online saying that he had received a letter from someone who informed them that his site had saved their life.  He openly said on GMB that it was what his goal to help just one person, and any more than that was a bonus.

If you click on the link below you can see at the bottom of the landing page the amount of people the site has helped and the amount of physical letters that have been sent to people.

We think this is a wonderful, unique and very powerful way this could be shared with others struggling.

Anyone can write a letter to add to the site, at any time….
