Mindfulness – Barnsley Recovery College

The Exchange, 33 Gawber Road, Barnsley S75 2AH

Understanding my mental health and wellbeing

Ever find yourself stuck ‘in your head’…problem-solving to the point where you’ve forgotten what the initial problem was and created 20 more for yourself? On-top of this, you’ve also missed half of what’s been happening around you? This is called being human. Introduction to Mindfulness aims to introduce you to the theory and practice of mindfulness, as a tool that you can learn and use, to living a more present and deliberate life. You don’t have to have tried it before, this course is open to anyone with an open mind who wants to broaden their self-awareness. It builds on the content ‘Mindfulness: a practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world’ by Mark Williams and Danny Penman. We will complete a short-guided meditation each session and reflect on this together.
