Simple Weaving – Come and enjoy this relaxed and friendly introduction to weaving.  You will learn some basic techniques, using a piece of cardboard, a small picture frame and/or a small frame which you can make out of twigs.  You’ll be able to weave a purse and a tapestry; also a small piece of cloth, which you can sew into a small purse or pouch.  There will also be an element of the history of weaving.

As a relatively cheap and portable skill, it is possible to take the work home, should you so wish to do so. In understanding the principles of working with these different textiles techniques you can produce work that has a personal meaning to you.

Hand Sewing skills for pleasure  – Come and enjoy this relaxed and friendly introduction to sewing, which will take you from threading a needle, to producing a finished article by hand.  We will also look at upcycling or re-purposing: making one loved item into a new, more useful one.
